Brand: Simon Preen

Finally, a brand to rival AQ/AQ in my bodysuit affections. I have long been obsessed with high quality bodysuits, while those made cheaply typically leave me facing a distinctly unglamorous choice between visible nipple anxiety and bra-induced back rolls, their higher quality counterparts make me feel supported and secure, with everything smoothly held in place. The addition of soft draping to the front of such garments shunts my self image firmly into realm of confident. AQ/AQ (formerly Aqua Couture and Aqua By Aqua) is my go-to for such staples. The pieces tend to be block colours (often neutrals such as black, white or royal blue, a colour that I tend to view as neutral, alongside leopard print) and so can be mixed, matched and worn to death.

London based Simon Preen, however, is something entirely different. Coupling the  premium fabrics favoured by AQ/AQ with stunning and outlandish designs this designer creates bodysuits that are every bit as flattering and wearable as AQ/AQ. Some, such as the ‘Bunny’ are playful and quirky, while others such as ‘Fleur’ and ‘Hydra’ have a tougher, superhero edge.

Ranging from £150 – £180, these bodysuits are expensive. If you are a person who likes to wear something brand new to every event then these pieces may not be for you. However if, like me, you are a girl who would be happy to be seen the the same outfit every day of her life provided it was both flattering and full of flare, these bodysuits could well be your next big purchase. I’m already a convert.
